Charlestown Rowing Club

“Founded in 1990, Charlestown Rowing Club has flourished as a hub of community engagement and charitable activity. Over the years, the club has helped hosted events like Regatta Week, Carnival, and the Boxing Day Charity Swim, raising thousands for local charities.”

A Community-Centric Club

“Charlestown Rowing Club has established itself as a strong competitor within the Cornish rowing community, achieving regular podium finishes at regional regattas and delivering consistently impressive performances at the World Pilot Gig Championships. These results reflect the club’s dedication to structured training, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence on the water.”

Proud of Our Competitive Success

“The club warmly welcomes individuals across all age groups and skill levels—juniors, seniors, veterans, men and women—whether they seek recreational outings or competitive racing. With social activities, indoor rowing programs for schools, corporate events, and quiz nights, CRC offers something for everyone .”

An Inclusive Club for All Ages and Abilities

“Nestled in the Cornish harbour village of Charlestown, the club specializes in the iconic fixed-seat Cornish Pilot Gig—a design with maritime roots from the 1790s. Crews launch from the harbour in summer and move to Fowey in winter to make use of sheltered conditions.”
