It was an evening of glitz and glamour at The Cornwall Hotel and Spa on Saturday night as Charlestown Rowing Club came together for its Annual Awards Evening 2025. Members from across all sections of the club – from competitive crews to recreational and social rowers – gathered to celebrate a year of achievement, teamwork and community both on and off the water.
This year marked the debut of the CRC Oscars, a new feature in the awards calendar that brought plenty of laughter and light-hearted fun to the night. The categories celebrated memorable moments that captured the essence of club life, including Best Duo, Most Dramatic Moment, Best Comedy, Nature Moment and Media & Photography.
The nominations highlighted the incredible spirit, humour and togetherness of the Charlestown rowing community – from unforgettable race-day drama and unexpected wildlife encounters to creative photography and moments of pure comedy that only a rowing club could produce.
In addition to the CRC Oscars, the evening also recognised rowing excellence, dedication and contribution across the club. Awards were presented to those who have shown outstanding commitment throughout the season, whether through performance, coaching, volunteering or simply being at the heart of club life.
The atmosphere was one of pride, celebration and connection as members reflected on another fantastic season – from early-morning training sessions and regatta successes to the friendships and memories built along the way.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped organise the event and to all members who make Charlestown Rowing Club such a special community. Here’s to another exciting year ahead, both on the water and beyond.
