Boxing day twist
What better way to shake off the festive indulgence than with a refreshing hose down?
This year’s annual Boxing Day Swim was another fantastic success, bringing together brave souls from across the local community for an invigorating start to the post-Christmas season.
Due to rough sea conditions and guidance from several authorities, we marked our fifth hose down in the event’s 35-year history. Spirits were high as participants gathered on the beach, cheered on by friends and family to embrace the icy blast from St Austell Fire and Rescue. Laughter, camaraderie, and a few shivers made for a truly memorable morning.
This tradition isn’t just about the swim, it’s about coming together to make a difference.
Thanks to your generosity, we raised funds for our 2025 chosen charity: Young People Cornwall, who do incredible work supporting young people across the county. They help individuals discover their potential, provide mental health support, and create safe spaces for positive activities.
After the hose down, everyone warmed up with delicious bacon baps, which proved so popular they sold out fast. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us by grabbing one. And a special shout-out to The Pier House for generously providing hearty, warming soup, it was the perfect way to thaw out and enjoy the post-event buzz.
Thank you to all who participated (and those who cheered from the warmth of their coats!). Here’s to keeping this wonderful tradition alive for many more years.
